Hebiscri

This is Hebiscri, a member of the lurathen race I made up. They are similar to demons in appearance, but they are good, as in with the light. Her name means hibiscus, hence the flower petals floating around. She isn't a main character or anything in my book, but I had fun drawing her.

Sylanya Portrait

I did this both for fun and as an example of a digital bust portrait, which I am offering commissions for on DeviantART.

This is a portrait/selfportrait of my main character, Sylanya, who looks like me. Ironic huh?

Illuminating the Flower Forest

This is a fanart I drew of one of my favorite characters (created by an artist), Iris, or Iridezria. She belongs to Michelle Hoefener, a very talented girl with a great imagination. Ever since she uploaded her first drawing of Iris I have loved this character, and figured it was high time I drew her.

I had a lot of fun with this piece. Maybe I should do some more character portraits like this of my own characters?

Anyways, crits and comments are welcome.

Till Death Do Us Part

I must say I am rather pleased wth how his picture came out. The pose was giving me a really hard time, and then once I got that right, it was the fabric. I learned quite a bit from this picture.

I'm not altogether clear on the story line yet, but basically, she is a beautiful young maiden named Maiesene, whom an evil creature falls in love with. When she married a young merchant in her village, the creature cursed her, so that any man whom she fell in love with would die at her hands...always in the same spot. Sort of an "If I can't have her, no one can." Maiesene doesn't realize what she is doing until the murder is complete, and then well, she sort of has to live with herself. The evil creature has also cursed her so that she cannot kill herself, which she has tried to do.

Like I said, I'm not altogether clear on the story yet, but that's what I have for now.

I shot a few references photos for the poses, and they were used lightly.

Underwater

This is more a sketch than a finished painting. I did this in the car on the way down to an event I was to participate in. I highly enjoyed painting this because I was so inspired to do it at the time. I had seen a photograph of a scuba diver in a tangle of seaweed similar to what you see here, and this image just popped in my head and screamed "paint me NOW!"

I'm rather happy with how it turned out.

Sea Vanity (nudity)

This started out as an idea that I suggested to the Daily Sketch forum, but I grew to love the idea so much that I developed it into something of a story, and painting a full picture of it. This took way longer than it should have, but that was mainly because I was so busy with schoolwork that I didn't have the time to paint. Anyways, it's done now, and I'm happy with it. There are some things that bug me, such as the pearls or the sky, but I am NOT doing the pearls again, and I repainted the sky so many that I finally decided that I'll just leave it and practice skies later. I adjusted a color a while back, but the details are still from the original. Sometime I'm going to write the story about her, but for now, here's a brief sum-up:
She's a sea-spirit, and the sea relied on her to protected it, keep it clean, fresh, keep the skies clear, and the sealife thriving and satisfied. But she always had a flaw, through it was never evident until the day that she came up on a small mirror, and saw her reflection clearly for the first time. She fell in love with herself, and sat on a rock day an night, admiring herself. Sea lya helpless as she shirked her duties, and slowly began dying. She still sits there today, but the sea she had once protected with so much fervor has perished because of her vanity.
Some close-ups for your enjoyment:
